This blog is to provide a discussion forum for ways of funding motorsport vehicles. On so many occasions, young drivers achieve heights of success in lower formula with financial support from local businesses and family. But careers often stall when it comes to shifting to more senior formula, where the cost of purchasing the car is so significant that it absorbs much of the budget that is available to run the car. The option then becomes whether to hire from a team and pay for hiring the car and compete in fewer events or buy a car and then hire it out in the hope that there will be sufficient budget to compete in a few events. Leasing is an effective way of providing a car without taking too much of the running budget. If structured properly, it can be so tax effective that it costs nothing to own the car for three years.
